The 61508 Association
The 61508 Association is a cross-industry group of organizations with an interest in achieving a dependable and cost-effective method for demonstrating compliance with IEC 61508 and related standards.
The purpose of The 61508 Association is to promote the CASS method for providing the integrity, transparency and consistency of the conformity assessment process for all phases of the lifecycle of safety-related systems.
The current chair of the 61508 Association is Haden Freeman director, Wayne Baxter.

Engineering Education Scheme (England)
Haden Freeman is currently in their 3rd year of involvement with The Royal Academy of Engineering’s education programme for 6th form students via Stockport Grammar School. The current programme is operated by the Engineering Development Trust (EDT) and is called the Engineering Education Scheme (England). It provides students with an opportunity to experience at first hand and in some depth, the challenge and excitement of a career in professional science, engineering and technology. The main outcomes of the programme are a solution to an engineering problem with a written report, a verbal presentation to a panel of professional engineers and development of employability skills.
Haden Freeman’s sponsor engineer for the last two years had been director Mike Garratt and for this year senior projects engineer Karl Burgess has taken on the responsibility.
