Background
Bio Products Laboratory Ltd (BPL) is aGovernment owned not for profit organisation which turns blood plasma in to arange of life saving products. It is committed to research and development tomaintain a key position in a constantly changing market in the 21st century.
Requirement
BPL operates a number of potentiallyexplosive processes within its manufacturing facility. Ensuring the safeoperation of these processes falls within the ATEX/DSEAR regulations andguidance.
BPL commissioned HFL to conduct
Our Response
HFL conducted a DSEAR and EPD gap analysis by reviewing current processes, documentation and procedures. The subsequent report identified and prioritised the activities required to produce a compliant EPD.
HFL also advised on competency training for BPL staff to ensure the relevant legal requirements were fulfilled.
Result
The gap analysis allowed BPL to focus on the activities necessary to enable preparation and planning for the implementation of a fully compliant plant.
